Bosphorus Cruise Tour Half Day
Bosphorus Cruise Tour ( Half Day Morning or Afternoon) ( TOUR 4 )
WALLS OF CONSTANTINOPLE The Walls of Constantinople are a series of defensive stone walls that have surrounded and protected the city of Constantinople since its inception as the new capital of the Roman Empire by Constantine the Great. With numerous additions and modifications during their history, they were the last great fortification system of antiquity, and one of the most complex and elaborate systems ever built. The first breach of the walls was by the Fourth Crusade in 1204, the second by the cannons of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror in 1453. Ultimately the city fell from sheer weight of numbers of the Ottoman forces after a six-week siege.
DRIVE BY BUS TO GOLDEN HORN is a major urban waterway and the primary inlet of the Bosphorus. It is a horn-shaped estuary (hence, the name) that joins Bosphorus Strait at the immediate point where said strait meets the Sea of Marmara, thus forming a narrow, isolated peninsula, the tip of which is “Old Istanbul”. The Golden Horn geographically separates the historic center of Istanbul from the rest of the city, and forms a natural, sheltered harbor that has historically protected Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman and other maritime trade ships for thousands of years.
SPICE BAZAAR(Egyptian Bazaar): is one of the largest bazaars in the city. Located in the Eminönü quarter of the Fatih district, it is the most famous covered shopping complex after the Grand Bazaar. Spice Bazaar has a total of 85 shops selling spices, Turkish delight and other sweets, jewellery, souvenirs, and dried fruits and nuts.
